Broiler Chickens and Pigs
 
Indications for Use
 
 Chlorsol 50 is intended for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria in broiler chickens and pigs.
 
For Broiler Chickens: Chlorsol 50 is used to treat and control colibacillosis secondary to infectious bursal disease, chronic respiratory disease caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Escherichia coli, as well as infections from Salmonella enteridis, Salmonella typhimurium, and Pasteurella multocida.
 
For Pigs: Chlorsol 50 is utilized to treat and control respiratory diseases linked to Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Streptococcus suis, and toxigenic strains of Pasteurella multocida. It's also employed in the treatment and control of rhinitis due to Bordetella bronchiseptica and streptococcal meningitis caused by Streptococcus suis type II.

Special Precautions for Use
 
i. Special Precautions for Use in Animals: Upon opening, the complete contents of the 200g sachet must be added to the appropriate volume of water. For the 2kg pack, once the inner sachet is opened, it should be resealed after use, keeping the container tightly closed. Contents from the inner sachet should be used within 7 days. Any medicated water not consumed within 24 hours should be safely discarded. During treatment, chickens and pigs should only have access to medicated water.
 
ii. Special Precautions for Persons Administering the Product: Avoid inhaling dust by using a protective mask. Wear either a disposable half-mask respirator conforming to European Standard EN 149 or a non-disposable respirator to European Standard EN 140 with a filter to EN 143. In case of accidental spillage onto the skin or eyes, immediately wash the affected area with clean running water and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Thoroughly wash hands after using this product.

Use During Pregnancy, Lactation, or Lay
 
Chlorsol 50 should not be administered to pregnant sows, as indicated in section 4.3.
 
Interaction with Other Medications and Other Forms of Interaction
 
The absorption of chlortetracycline from the alimentary tract may be reduced by calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc salts.
